Rounded Pi is roughly equal to 3.14, and consequently March 14 (3-14) is known by many as Pi Day. Pi is one of the most important mathematical constants, approximately equal to 3.14159. The definition of Pi can be stated as the ratio of any circle’s circumference to its diameter. This is the same as the ratio of a circle’s area to the square of its radius.
For some people, mostly Geeks, memorizing a record number of PI’s digits is an obsession for them. Such individuals use a number of ways to memorize the digits of Pi, including the use of “piems”. A piem is simply a poem that represents Pi in a way such that the length of each word (in letters) represents a digit. In fact, I think I heard one such piem at AU this past year, just before one of the nighttime events. It went something like:

Furthermore, some have expressed Pi in letters. Such that A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, etc. Consequently, stated in letters, Pi could be represented as C.AD (3.14), solidifying the overwhelming importance of CAD. Of course, seeing that I make my livelihood using CAD, I am a little partial in this conclusion.
